The Argentine calendar is dotted with holidays of different kinds. Whether local, national or international, most of them feature interesting programs, among which religious celebrations, artistic exhibitions and colourful popular festivals can be highlighted.

- January 1st: New Year.
- March 25th: Good Friday.
- May 1st: Labor day
- April 2nd: Veterans Day and Tribute to the Fallen in the Malvinas (Falkland Islands) War
- May 25th: Anniversary of the First Independent Argentine Government (May Revolution)
- June 20th: National Flag Day
- July 9th: National Independence Day
- August 17th: General José de San Martín’s Death Anniversary
- October 12th: Colombus Day
- December 8th: Immaculate Conception Day
- December 25th: Christmas Day

The following holidays will be effective on the preceding or following Monday if they fall on any other working day: April 2nd, June 20th, August 17th and October 12th.
Summer vacation usually starts on December 8th and lasts until March 1st. Winter recess takes place from July 9th to July 22nd.
The only day that shopping malls are closed is January 1st. During the rest of the national holidays, they are open from 10.00 am to 10.00 pm, as usual. |
