WHERE CAN I EXCHANGE FOREIGN CURRENCY?

Although US Dollars and Euros are accepted in almost every large shop, they can be exchanged for the local current unit, the Argentine Peso. The exchange service is available in banks, which are open Mondays through Fridays, from 10 am to 3 pm. You can also exchange money in hotels, banks and money exchange offices (called “Casas de Cambio”).

Electric power in Argentina is 220V and socket outlets have three flat prongs forming a V-shape. (IEC 60309 plug 3 pins).

Traveling to Argentina is easy. Just a valid passport is required. Only Australians and New Zealanders do need visas.

The country code of Argentina is 54 (preceded by 00). The area code of Buenos Aires is 11. To call to Argentina from abroad, you have to dial: (00) 54 + 11 + the local telephone number.
To make an international call from Argentina, dial 00 followed by your country code, the city code and finally the local number.
In Argentina, you will be able to find pay phones to make local and long- distance calls almost everywhere. Moreover, there are stores with telephones called “locutorios”, where you can make calls and access the internet. Another option is to buy prepaid telephone cards to use with pay phones.
If you are looking for a very fast and reliable connection to the internet, you can go to cybercafés, which can be ubiquitously found in Buenos Aires.
